Pastoral

"Prior Park seems to have it all. From fantastic, caring teachers and staff, to very involved and motivating Headmaster and Deputy Heads. So far our experience has been a very positive and enriching one for our child."

Social skills are the foundation for success in the wider world, in whatever chosen field of endeavour. Understanding yourself and others, both strengths and weaknesses, learning to express yourself, being tolerant and supportive and developing strong relationships with a wide range of people are vital skills to have. Our programme of pastoral care is central to this process. Its aim is to enable our pupils to make their own informed decisions, to assume responsibility for their actions and to recognise his or her own value as a unique person.

Pastoral issues are addressed through school assemblies, form periods, house groups and Park Life, our own PSHCE Programme. This aims to educate pupils to become effective citizens who understand a great deal about themselves and others, both spiritually and personally. We want our boys and girls to contribute to communities that they are a part of, both inside and outside school, locally and globally. Fund raising for charity and giving of time and energy to community projects are important aspects of who we are as a school. Many parents chose Prior Park Schools because of this strong Christian identity and sense of community.
