Snow Sports Trip 2020
  • School Trips

On Sunday 9th February, 41 students and 6 members of staff set off to enjoy the wonderful sights of La Thuile in Italy. This resort is based in the Aosta Valley and boasts incredible views with extensive skiing for advanced groups whilst offering runs for those learning to enjoy the sport. The students met nice and early on Sunday, all excited to head off and develop their technique.

We were greeted by our Interski rep upon arrival in Milan and from there onwards, Interski ensured we were well looked after for the week. From ice cream night, bum boarding, a trip to Courmayeur (a ski resort lower down in the valley), pizza night, karaoke night and crepe night, we were really spoilt for choice. For the best part of the week, we were engulfed in low clouds and heaps of snow, making the skiing conditions a dream albeit a little cold. Wednesday hit rock bottom temperatures of minus 16 degrees!!! Many hot chocolates were consumed throughout! We were very fortunate to enjoy our last day of skiing in beautiful sunny and warmer temperatures, and having snowed considerably the night before, we had almost impeccable skiing conditions.

Many of the groups managed to ski across to the French resort of Le Rosiere and all of our groups managed to progress enough to enjoy the magical views from the top of the mountain. Our bedrooms were located right at the foot of the mountain which meant we could afford a later start in the mornings which was appreciated by all students and staff alike.

The instructors from Interski mentioned ‘it has been an absolute dream to spend the week with your students. We would be delighted if you were to join us again next year’.
