As November drew to an end, we celebrated the beginning of Advent with our Advent Fair. We welcomed our students, their families, and the wider Gibraltar community to join us in celebrating the start of this festive period. Each of our four Houses had stalls to raise money for the school’s chosen charity. Which, this year, is Cancer Relief, a local charity that has been providing support to people living with cancer in Gibraltar for over 30 years.
We had stalls selling cakes, books, and handmade knitwear. One House organized karaoke and a photo booth both of which were extremely popular. Other students chose to run games, such as ‘Pin the Moustache on Mr. Fletcher’ and the opportunity to throw sponges at some brave members of staff and students.
During the evening we held a Blessing of the Advent Wreath in our chapel. It was a beautiful service led by our Lay Chaplain Dr March. Our choir sang hymns such as ‘O Come O Come Emmanuel’ and ‘La Nanita Nanna’.
It was amazing to come to together as a community to celebrate this important time of year and raise money for a charity doing incredible work on The Rock.
