"Teachers have gone over and beyond their job in helping my son and for this I won't hesitate in recommending the school."
Academics
Prior Park Schools are known for their ambitiously high standards.
Our academic results are excellent. Since our first set of public exam results in 2018, the school has continued to achieve impressive results with a 100% higher grade pass rate so far. In our most recent GCSE cohort, 69% of all passes were at grades 7-9, with a remarkable 38% of all grades at 9. Excellence in these thresholds repeats itself at A-Level, where all students achieved a 100% pass, and 78% of all grades coming in the A*-A tier. Our strong academic record ensured all our Sixth Form students went on to study their chosen degree at their first-choice destination.
Along with the high grade thresholds our students achieve, the school earns outstanding Value-added residuals. Value-added is a measure of the progress pupils make over a period of time. Value-added takes into account how much progress a child has made since their starting point, compared to the progress they have made relative to similar UK pupils. Since our first set of exam results in 2016, the school has attained a positive Value-added score for all GCSE and GCE cohorts. Demonstrating that not only do we secure strong academic outcomes for our students, we also add demonstrable value to these results.
Prior Park School offers a deliberately broad curriculum in Years 7, 8 & 9, followed by a more focused one for Years 10 to 13, leading to up to ten GCSE’s and typically 3 A Levels being taken.

Our strong links with Prior Park College in Bath also mean that we have the flexibility to offer teaching in some of the subjects that they offer that we don’t via an online classroom environment.
School days begin at 8:30am with a pattern of assemblies and services, so important to sustain the ethos of our community. Lessons of eighty minutes run from 9:15am until 3:40pm with a short morning break and afternoon break and an hour for lunch, with the time from 4:00 to 6:00pm being used for our co-curricular programme of sport, music, drama, service options and intellectual enrichment.
