Prior Park receives Duke of Edinburgh Operating Licence

The Board of Trustees of The Duke of Edinburgh's International Award Gibraltar have awarded Prior Park School an Operating Licence.

During the annual Awards Presentation Ceremony on the 6th September, held at The Convent, Mr Watts was presented with the new licence by Governor Lt Gen Edward Davis.

The licence allows Prior Park School to act as Operating Authorities for the Award, ensuring the continuity and sustainability of the Duke of Edinburgh programme. Prior Park will ensure that the global quality standards are upheld and will endeavour to follow the Fundamental and Operational Principals of the Award.

The school has been working with National Director, Michael Pizzarello, to undergo a period of validation, which involved scrutiny of its documented procedures as well as facilitating workshops for the adult volunteers.

Six Prior Park students were also in attendance at the recent Award Presentation Ceremony, to receive their Bronze Awards after a number of expeditions and activities over the course of the last academic year.

The school looks forward to expanding its Duke of Edinburgh provision to all students at the school over the coming years.
