Today, we were privileged to welcome Chris Shotton to the school.
Mr. Shotton is a technology veteran with over 25 years of experience in designing, building, and deploying large commercial, government, financial, medical, and academic systems for customers, ranging from start-ups to Fortune 50 companies. He is a recognized industry leader, writing and speaking on a wide range of technology subjects, and is one of the designers and implementers of the HTTP protocol, which powers the modern World Wide Web.
Mr. Shotton has led large engineering teams for NASA and Quarterdeck Corp., and was Chief Architect for one of DARPA’s flagship unmanned combat aircraft programs, J-UCAS. He is also credited with creating the first commercial Web server and was selected as one of Newsweek’s Top 50 People of the Internet.
Today, Mr Shotton was speaking to our students about the rise of Crypto-currencies, such as Bitcoin and answered lots of great questions from those among us with a keen interest in all things technological!
