Dr Lnenicek-Allen spent her long weekend across the straights of Gibraltar, in Morocco. She was volunteering with a charity called RifCom, which works to improve the lives of people living in poverty in the Rif Mountains.
Along with a small team of other volunteers, Dr Lnenicek-Allen saw the pre-school that has been established by the charity, as well as a Sewing Project for women. She took lots of stationery and colouring books for the local children at the school and is now hoping to continue raising funds for more school and sports equipment.
The school hopes to further develop the relationship with the charity and the people of the Rif Mountains in the future, with the possibility of taking groups of students to volunteer there as well.
