About The School

Peter Watts For Website
Welcome to Prior Park School, Gibraltar. This is the fourth school to join the Prior Park Schools’ family which includes Prior Park College, Bath, Prior Park Prep School, Cricklade and The Paragon Junior School, Bath.

The new school is a thriving community operating on the former Sacred Heart campus in the Old Town, high above the noise of the city. We currently have pupils in years 8, 9 and 10 and will expand to include Years 11 in September 2017. Our 6th Form (years 12 and 13) will open in September 2018 for A Level provision.

Prior Park is a modern Christian Catholic school that follows the English exam system of GCSE and A level. When we have full senior school provision the school will hold up to around 240 students. We have a staff to student ratio of 1:10 with a maximum of 40 children per year group.

Prior Park Schools have a clear Vision that enables every student to share in the life of the schools and to genuinely support the Head and the staff in achieving higher goals. We also have a clear Ethos - to care for our students so that they feel empowered to develop their talents in many different ways. We want our students to be rooted in the Christian Values of consideration, compassion, kindness, service, contribution to others and an openness to God on which they can build their lives and which will be their inspiration in good times and comfort in bad. At the same time we also want them to embrace the challenges and uncertainty that the future provides, and our extensive Co-Curriculum helps them in this ambition.

As Headmaster, I want to know all my students and their parents well so that I can better understand their aspirations. A good school is not only one that produces lawyers, scientists or doctors, but also artists, musicians, sports men and women. Prior Park offers wonderful opportunities to develop all these strengths in an inclusive atmosphere. It is a community, and a special place to go to school.

I feel privileged to be the founding Headmaster of Prior Park School, Gibraltar. I am thoroughly enjoying putting my own stamp on this new school, whilst remaining subject to the governance, values and ethos of the Prior Park Schools' family. We hope that this website will provide enough information to give you a sense of what our new school can offer Gibraltarian families and would welcome you to visit, to find out more.

Finally, thank you for your interest in Prior Park School. Exciting times lie ahead as we continue to build a school of which all Gibraltar can be proud.
